As of late, denim has been making quite the impression amongst the celebrity set. And coming soon, — if the Fall 2010 ready-to-wear runway shows for Burberry and Marc Jacobs are any indication, — we'll be seeing lots of shearling.
Worn separately, both trends allow us to style legitimate looks for our fall and winter wardrobes, but putting them together certainly creates an ugly interesting amalgam, right?
For exhibit A, check this 3.1 Phillip Lim fur-trimmed denim jacket. The mid-blue, stone-washed denim coverup features shearling lining (nice and warm for those chilly fall days) and detachable lamb fur trimmed cuffs. While the latter would be chic on almost any overcoat, I don't really see the appeal of how they're used here. The sleeves are cuffed, the push-stud fastenings through the front are gold, and the patch pockets are practical.
But I'm not sold.
