The focal point of any bedroom should be the bed (hence why we call it the bedroom). As you all know, I've searched for the perfect headboard (which I found at Home Depot, btw), and now I'm looking for ways to build on that. A luxe headboard acts as an anchor and instantly draws the eyes in, and now that we've got that covered, it's time to put our focus on accessories. It only makes sense to further accessorize the bed and highlight the bedroom's focus by adding matching night stands and lamps.
If you're anything like me, less surface clutter is better. That's why I decided to look for some fantastic wall lamps that secure to the wall and take up less table space. While there were several sconces at Horchow that caught my eye, it was these IKEA Årstid wall lamps that won me over. As if the under 20 dollar price tag wasn't enough to draw me in, I love the brushed nickel-plated finish, the curvature of the lamp arm, and the darling fabric lamp shade.

As you can see from the examples, wall lamps should be secured to the wall on either side of the headboard, below the top of the headboard. Depending on the effect you want to achieve, keep wall lamps within arms reach on the two sides of your headboard. A good rule of thumb is ensuring you can reach the lamps from a sitting position in bed. Remember to measure twice for accuracy before you secure your lamps to the wall.
