Fashion - Women > Trend-Spotting

Until the Fall 2010 RTW runway shows last Spring, odds are you'd have a better chance finding a mid-length skirt in your great aunt's wardrobe than you would your own. Good thing times change. Dresses and skirts featuring hemlines that hit below the knee have gone from being a grandmother staple to spot-on super style. It's true! Women of all heights and body shapes can channel the effortless elegant look with a below-the-knee hemline. The fab quartet below is just a sampling of the celebrities who are mad for modest hemlines!
Freida Pinto and and Claire Danes demonstrated sophisticated style when they attended two separate film festivals last week (in Abu Dhabi and London, respectively). Donning sheath dresses with cinched waists and below-the-knee hemlines, these two actresses provide an excellent example of how to style the modest hemline — and work appropriate! — trend.
Two more trendsetters? Check the two Kates: Bosworth and Hudson. Whilst Bosworth went minimalist and wore Derek Lam separates to a benefit last week, Kate Hudson amped up the glam factor in a Prabal Gurung design for the Elle Women in Hollywood tribute.
Style suggestion: Try this trend only if you're comfortable wearing shoes with a 3-inch or higher heel! Heels are a must if you're styling a below-the-knee hemline.
