It would appear that fascinators are just too trendy, or that's the conclusion some have reached after it was announced that the high-attention headpieces have been banned at Royal Ascot's Royal Enclosure, taking place this summer. Fear not, however, as those sitting in the more mainstream public grandstand will have the option between wearing a fascinator and a hat.
You're likely familiar with the fanciful headgear, but for those of you who've been hiding under a rock, a fascinator is a cross between a small hat and a headpiece (most often affixed to the head with either a clip or hairband). Fascinators have come into fashion and been seen in higher frequency ever since the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, started styling the unique headgear. (You may remember the designs she's worn by Philip Treacy and also Vivien Sheriff.)

According to the dress code posted on the Ascot website, "Fascinators are no longer permitted in the Royal Enclosure; neither are headpieces which do not have a base covering a sufficient area of the head (4 inches/10cm)."
And what else has changed in the dress code for Royal Ascot's Royal Enclsoure?
An article posted on BBC News states that, in an effort to restore formality, strapless and sheer-strap dresses/shirts have been banned, and dresses/skirts are required to hit at knee-length or just below. Men are now required to wear a suit and tie.
Royal Ascot takes place in June each year, and this year events run from Tuesday June 19 - Saturday June 23.

Valentine's Day is still a good five days away, but I've got my eyes on some pretty pink accessories.
And, so should you, especially if you've yet to decide how you're going to gift your Valentine on 2011's day of love. Take a look at these little — but absolutely luxe — pink accessories (priced high to low for every budget).

Anyone who knows me knows what a huge fan I am of leather driving gloves. A quick check of my collection would easily yield at least six or seven pairs, and it seems that with each passing season I acquire several new sets.
So check these Miu Miu studded leather gloves. A subtle nod to biker chic, I'm loving the luxurious glamour of these leather driving gloves and how they're splattered with silver studs. Miu Miu's leather driving gloves will add instant edge to pretty much any Fall 2010 look, and I think the silver studs will especially stand out when worn with an all-black ensemble.
This pair of Miu Miu studded gloves is fully lined in silk, so they'd probably wear warmest in early Fall (not exactly a practical pick for the cold of winter). The fronts of the gloves are sprayed in studs, and the backs of the glove are the softest leather. The opening of these Miu Miu gloves is curved for a perfect fit and the gloves hit right at the wrist when you pull them on. The leather is supple, so my suggestion is to order these gloves a size smaller than you would normally, since with time the leather will give.
Love!
