There's nothing nondescript about it: Neutrals are a huge trend for Fall 2010. (Yes, I said Fall. Get ready because autumn will here before you know it.) The runways for the Fall 2010 RTW collections were filled with so many camel, ecru, and brown tones it was enough to make you think you'd lost sight of colour. Not to fear, as designers like Burberry and Prada showcased the slew of nature-inspired hues alongside pops of burgundy, blue, and green.
While Michael Kors dressed his models in head-to-toe camel courtesy a cowl-neck sweater and ruched cargo-style pants, and Marc Jacobs accented a beige camisole with a camel-coloured skirt, Miuccia Prada went the realistic route and paired the subtle shade with lots of black and even blue (and check those fancy tights - LOVE!).
Although it's not as electric as the neon looks you're styling this summer, the colour camel — along with its equally achromatic cousins ecru and brown — are wardrobe classics that will keep you coming back to your closet for seasons to come. My suggestion is to purchase some select items — day coat, wide-leg dress pants, pencil skirt — that can act as style anchors that you can set off with some fetching jewel tones.
