Summer is the perfect time for styling a dress, and I find cotton/jersey blends to be both comfortable and chic. This bandeau style would be quite fitting for bargain shopping at a tourist-y farmers market or strolling beachside.
When I first saw this bandeau dress by Splendid, I knew it would be completely comfortable. The brainchild of Moise Emquies — a […]

Net-A-Porter is having a sale, and look what I found while I was scooping up bargains!
Smart shoes by Marc Jacobs, –
Combining the sweetness of a peep-toe, the sophisticated styling of a slingback, and the slickness of patent leather.
All wrapped up in a beautiful nude hue that wears wonderful and stuck on a 4-inch heel, I […]

The boyfriend blazer is back.
OK, I’ll admit, the boyfriend blazer was back last summer, but it took a year for the style to grow on me.
Like other menswear-inspired pieces, these blazers wear large, hang below the hips, and look effortlessly elegant when juxtaposed with the ultra-feminine.
Worn over a silk dress, or over a poet-style blouse paired […]

Menswear is really hard to wear correctly, especially if you’re a woman.
Basic logic, right?
You’d be surprised how many women I see who think themselves super-stylish, wandering around in too-baggy, menswear-inspired trousers. Seriously, runway to real life is an art.
Enter Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez. The boys behind Proenza Schouler know how to tailor menswear to a woman’s body.
That’s […]

Mostly recognized for her flowing romantic gowns and hints of femininity, I guess Alberta Ferretti was attempting to channel a Grecian goddess with this toga-ish mini dress.
‘Attempting’ is, of course, the operative word, because this dress falls short on the fabulous meter (and I’m not talking about the hemline).
While the Net-a-Porter editors think it brilliant, […]

Even though I’m not so excited for Ironman, I am pretty excited that the movie has brought Gwyneth Paltrow back to the red carpet.
Gwyneth is one of my style icons; though some of her wardrobe choices are avant-garde, her unique sense of style is what adds to her appeal.
I’m loving her Balmain dress and tuxedo jacket […]

This dress design is an ode to summer – meant to look like the sky — and I’d say the blue and frothy print of this Zac Posen creation even resembles the sea.
I remember thinking when Agyness Deyn strutted down the runway in this sheath that the colour would have popped so much more effectively if she still had […]

Summer brights are so inspiring, and I’m loving Karta’s collection of appliqué and embellishment-heavy dresses. Of course Karta — and said line’s designer, Judi Lambert — are based in LA, so naturally most of the dresses are mini-length. How perfect is that?
Check out this amazing A-line design. An eye-catching neon pink colour, I love the clean cut […]

If a denim mini skirt is classic, that would make a denim mini dress ultra-classic since there’s more material, right?
And by classic I mean over, –
Like Dolly Parton, plastic surgery, and bleach blonde hair.

Besides warm weather, there’s one thing I’m particularly peached about this spring: ACCESSORIZING!
The right accoutrement can make or break an outfit. The quintessential example? MK and Ashley Olsen, of course. While they look almost exactly alike, the twins each exude their own personal style — even when sharing a wardrobe — by adding unique accessories. Eclectic […]

A deep v-neck halter is a stylish alternative to a plain tank for summer 2008.
Wide leg pants were all over the spring 2008 runways.
Tribal-inspired prints are totally on-trend.
So, because the above three sentences are true, does that mean this Antik Batik turel halter jumpsuit is really hot?

It’s taken almost 14 years, but me thinks Consuelo Castiglioni — the designer behind Marni — has perfected her craft.
Check the evidence.
Marni’s patent shoulder bag, a vivid, vibrant green, is the epitome of artistic accoutrements. Does this not look like something you’d find at a modern art gallery? Pure patent leather has never looked so structured. […]

This Aminaka Wilmont trompe l’oeil mannequin dress reminds me of those iron-on image aprons featuring a scantily clad female torso that’s worn by a really fat man at a trailer park barbeque.
‘Trompe l’oeil’ translates ‘cheat the eye’, but by wearing this dress you cheat yourself out of looking good.
Net-A-Porter editors say this Aminaka Wilmont sheath is “quite possibly, […]

The Editors’ Notes on Net-A-Porter say this Bodyamr Dravtu silk jersey pantsuit “is a great look for modern-vintage evening wear.”
And that’d be totally correct, if the definition of great was synonymous with super ugly.
