Many style statements from the 1980s have made comebacks in recent years — oversized clutches, wasp waists, –
White denim.
Made classic by J.Crew, I’m loving these white denim matchstick jeans. With a leg that’s not straight but not skinny, a comfortable rise, and perhaps the most figure-flattering back pockets EVER – these jeans have a super-stylish silhouette.
White denim is […]

Hope,
What are the latest trends in leather jackets?
Always a classic, the leather jacket has made quite a comeback this season. Worn with everything from skinny jeans to floral dresses, the leather jacket is an essential item for every woman’s wardrobe.
I’m not all about trendy ruching and ruffles; if you purchase a clean-cut leather coat, I […]

Though there’s no doubt that I absolutely adore MK and Ashley Olsen — well, more Ashley than MK, but that’s another matter — I’ve yet to find a piece from their Elizabeth and James line that I really love. There are dresses I almost like, skirts I might wear, and jackets like this one.
This Elizabeth […]

A deep v-neck halter is a stylish alternative to a plain tank for summer 2008.
Wide leg pants were all over the spring 2008 runways.
Tribal-inspired prints are totally on-trend.
So, because the above three sentences are true, does that mean this Antik Batik turel halter jumpsuit is really hot?

Besides colour-blocking, the 2008 spring/summer season sees a lot of bright colours paired with understated neutrals. With a few neutral pieces acting as staples in your wardrobe, styling classic chic has never been so easy!
This colour-blocked skirt by Banana Republic is an essential A-line style. Coloured deep carob brown with a thick white band around the hem, […]

Let’s get real, –
Why would I pay 750 dollars for something I could get for free from my Great Aunt Ethel’s closet? –
This Pucci tunic is totally Mischa Barton, right?

This Aminaka Wilmont trompe l’oeil mannequin dress reminds me of those iron-on image aprons featuring a scantily clad female torso that’s worn by a really fat man at a trailer park barbeque.
‘Trompe l’oeil’ translates ‘cheat the eye’, but by wearing this dress you cheat yourself out of looking good.
Net-A-Porter editors say this Aminaka Wilmont sheath is “quite possibly, […]

The Editors’ Notes on Net-A-Porter say this Bodyamr Dravtu silk jersey pantsuit “is a great look for modern-vintage evening wear.”
And that’d be totally correct, if the definition of great was synonymous with super ugly.

I’m all about classic styles coming back as chic, but Marc Jacobs has taken it too far, –
Check out his Great-Aunt-Grandmother-bed-dress-inspired sheath.
The fact that it’s Italian silk is appealing, but super soft silk is trumped by an awful orchid print. Pair that pattern with a style that’s better suited for senior citizens, and you’ve got 995 dollars worth of ugly.
So I’m […]

Animal prints are classic; although they’re frequently stamped on trendy pieces — 50s wasp-waist skirts and platform heels – an animal print sweater is a piece you’ll keep in your wardrobe for several seasons.
I love a chic, fitted cardi done in a neutral print, like these designs by Bruno Manetti and Forever 21. Bruno Manetti’s animal print cardigan is pure […]

Dressing right for this spring and summer is all about including some tribal influences and safari style in your wardrobe. 2008’s classic uniform includes anything done in a crisp khaki — jackets, shirt dresses, or skirts – cinched with a fabulous skinny belt in a bright colour. I’m loving khaki skirts that hit just above the knee, done in a […]

Hope,
I need to find some stylish shorts for this summer. Can you tell me some lengths and styles that would work for someone 5′ 5″ or shorter? Thanks for your help!
Blame it on my alabaster complexion, but I’ve always sworn by bermuda shorts when warmer weather starts. This summer, though, I’m so loving the wide variety of shorter shorts that I […]

Before I discovered Toronto designer Jay Godfrey’s darling designs, I thought ombré was just a modernized tye-dye — overdone and ugly, — but now the cascading colour-block technique is really growing on me.
From shirts and shoes to bags and bohéme-like scarves, I’ve compiled my top ombré trend list over on ThisNext.
Do check it out and […]

Fresh and flashy in lemon yellow, this AK Anne Klein anorak jacket would make a great addition to any woman’s spring wardrobe.
It’s not your early ’90s anorak, that’s for sure.
The shape of today’s stylish anorak jacket has been updated to better accentuate feminine curves and wear more modern.
I love the silver-tone buttons and hardware on […]

Is anyone else going through a Loeffler Randall phase? I am completely in love with designer Jessie Randall’s handbags, shoes, and clothes.
Right now I’ve got my eye on this not-so-basic-black sateen bomber jacket. Though typically a more masculine style, this bomber jacket is softly shaped with a silky weave, mandarin collar, and darling three-quarter sleeves. Elegance married to versatility, I’d wear […]
