Isaac Mizrahi | Fall 2008 Show | Ready-To-Wear Collection

Call me classic, but while others hound Target-designer-alum Isaac Mizrahi for presenting a Fall 08 show that was both bland and boring, I absolutely adore his latest collection.
I thought it marvelous how he mixed up his mostly-neutral ready-to-wear palate with pops of pink and red, drawing a design paradox with structure and non-conformity, high-waisted skirts and free-flowing dresses, simple shapes with sequins and sumptuous furs, –
Mizrahi is a design master.

For the most part, I love the album. While celebrities may be able to pull off more avant garde and sometimes questionable looks, this collection offers looks that normal women can wear without people saying, “What in the world is that?!” I am not a fan of the Pepto-colored top and skirt…looks like trailer trash couture.
My fav ensemble from the collection is the one pic you posted Hope, I love the deep plum and wide sash, it is very playful and pretty! I am with Crystal on the pink skirt, I am drawn to pinks, the shape of the skirt is fantastic, but the thick mohair-like fabric is a poor choice for something that should look free-flowing in my opinion. (oh my, but I DO love that color so help me!)
I’m not fussy over the pink, though it definitely caught my eye… I agree with you, Eva. The neutral grey paired with the A-line skirt in purple is gorgeous! Purple makes anything pop!
