I’m looking for a versatile, classic pair of rainboots. I’m considering the original Hunter boots in chocolate brown, because they are simple and you can fit your jeans inside… any other suggestions?

You’re right. Hunter makes a classic wellie, — Hello?! They’re the creator of the original Wellington boot – and I especially like their original in chocolate brown. You could easily work such a deep shade of brown with any colour. (Yes, even black!) They feature a traction sole and full foot cushioning, so you’re guaranteed comfort. The ‘Original’ retails for $98 at Nordstrom, and is a worthy buy.
If you want to kick up your trend-y quotient, I’d suggest buying a pair of rubber boots in a fun pattern. Since you want something simple, I hesitate to show you these Pucci rose-print boots (they’re a bit too busy), but I will suggest you head over to Victoria’s Secret and take a peek at their patterned rain boots. Available in black sparkle, leopard, or tiger print, these boots have a simple shape and feature a print that’s not too bold. Originally retailing for $49, these babies are on clearance for $14.99. Cute, right?
Finally, I’ve saved the best for last. If you can afford to splurge, or think rubber boots are worth the cost of $195, buy Burberry! Available at Nordstrom, Burberry rubber boots have a generous opening in which to stuff your jeans, they’re made from a shiny rubber, and feature a large logo plate.
Pair any of these wellies with your skinny jeans, a cropped jacket, and a scarf – you’ll be set for a super-stylish spring. And don’t forget wool socks!
