Nordstrom | 14k Gold Open Disc Pendant

012808_nordstrom_14kgoldpendant.gifOne mistake I find that women make is piling on waaay too many layers of gaudy jewelery. I mean, a dash of flash is fine, but layering lots of loud necklaces, rings, bracelets, — whatever — is just too much.

When it comes to layering necklaces, the simpler the necklaces the more sophisticated your final look will be. For layering with other pieces, I love Nordstrom’s collection of elegant day and evening wear, like this 14k gold open disc pendant necklace.

Hanging on an adjustable strap — 14-inches or 16-inches — this gold necklace is perfect for staggering length, and it falls beautifully into a dainty disc (5/8 of an inch in diameter) tastefully texturized by hammering.

And though Nordstrom’s pendant necklace looks delicate, its construction is 14k gold, so it’s strong and won’t easily break or bend shape.

Kind of how your heart should be this Valentine’s Day.

  1. What is your advice for layering different metal colors?

  2. I love the look of yellow and rose gold together, though some people think it looks wrong.

Also, yellow gold and silver together are pretty classic. Or silver and rose gold.

You can pretty much mix it up however you like.

  3. I agree that too much is an overkill!!!
