I’m in the market to purchase a new winter coat, but I don’t want to buy black. Is charcoal a good color, or would I be better going with brown?

While you can’t go wrong with a black or brown peacoat, purchasing a coat in a charcoal shade is probably a more versatile option. You can pair charcoal with any colour – black, brown, blue, or even green — and it’s a colour that you can dress up or down, depending on occasion.

I so agree for women as well - I have a gray military-inspired coat, and I find it to be much more versatile and stylish than black.
