Dare to Compare | Woven Sash-Waist Belts
What I love about sash-waisted belts is their versatility — they provide women with a way to cinch their waists or accentuate their hips — and no matter how sash-waisted belts are worn, they always look classic.
Michael Kors’ woven belt is beautiful — albeit pricey — and available in a dark brown or metallic gold (my favourite). Woven vachetta leather wrapped ’round and held together with a round wooden buckle, this belt works wonders for wardrobes day and night.
On the other hand, ASOS makes a great leather-like version in a rich brown colour. Like the Michael Kors belt, it is tightly woven, but the ASOS belt is also glossed over with a high shine finish (making it both fade- and fray-resistant.) Its closure clasp is a durable coated metal ring, which doesn’t have the appeal of wood, but will last longer.
And while I’d prefer the luxury of wrapping some goold! Michael Kors ’round my waist, I think the ASOS belt is a real steal. What’s your take?
