Alexandra Neel | ‘Gatsby’ Boot
Many people aren’t familiar with Alexandra Neel — does no one remember the corset boot from her Fall 2002 collection? [see photo below on the right] – the designer who honed her skills at Celine and Balenciaga before embarking on her own creative expedition, but I’ve recently developed a love for her elegant, ballerina-inspired footwear.
Case in point? Check out her ‘Gatsby’ boot, all soft suede hitting right at the calf, with patent leather wingtip details. Italian-made with not quite a stick thin heel, these boots aren’t just pretty; they’re practical.
On sale at Barneys, they’d be the perfect companions to help your feet battle snowy sidewalks and icy streets this winter. Or just to make them look absolutely gorgeous.

I love the Gatsby boot!! Now if only boots would fit me…
But it’s still an adorable piece of footwear…I’m in love!
i like the front, but the back- not so much. i’m not a very big fan of lace up boots in the first place though.
